Not everyone understands but we surely know first hand how hot summers can be in Texas! And we love it don’t we! Once TS Bill has passed us by, we’ll be back to enjoying our summer. This month we have some of our favorite Texas brews to share and one that brings the heat! Come join us for a little taste of Texas Summer!

In Victoria and Beaumont this month, we’re sampling:

ElevenAmp

No Label Eleven Amp IPA – Inspired by West Coast IPAs, less malt character and more hops, the majority of which are added in the final minutes of the boil or later. Drinks dry but not too bitter.

PaleHorse

No Label Pale Horse Ale – American Ale with a significant amount of malts and hops. Slightly bitter but not overly hopped. Dry hopped with cascade for a nice floral aroma.

Ridgeback Ale

No Label Ridgeback Ale – Dark American Amber with strong flavors of caramel and roasted malts. Balanced with just the right amount of Cascade and Golding hops for a sweet but slightly bitter ale.

Forbidden Lavender

No Label Forbidden Lavender – A spin on a Belgian style witbier. Instead of coriander we add lavender flowers. The use of honey malt and vanilla add a nice sweetness and complement the lavender.

Southern Star Valkyrie Double IPA – A pungently hoppy deep copper ale. With two hop additions, Simcoe and Centennial hops give an aroma of marmalade jam and tangerine zest. Dry on the palate but enough malt character to balance the flavors of grapefruit and candied citrus, finishing with a slight spiciness.

Rogue Sriracha Hot Stout – Dark brown body with a rich bubbly dark chocolate head. The aroma and taste is chocolate malt with subtle roastiness, smooth with a mild lingering heat on the finish.

Texas City will be sampling these tasty treats:

Southern Star Valkyrie Double IPA – A pungently hoppy deep copper ale. With two hop additions, Simcoe and Centennial hops give an aroma of marmalade jam and tangerine zest. Dry on the palate but enough malt character to balance the flavors of grapefruit and candied citrus, finishing with a slight spiciness.

Southern Star Walloon – A grisette is an all but extinct style of beer hailing from the French region of Belgium, Walloonia. The flavor is light, with a delicate body attributed to a subtle acidity from the yeast followed by a rich, bready maltiness from a traditionally long boil. Yeast flavors include clove and slight banana notes but are generally clean.

Iron JoeBTL

Rahr & Sons Iron Joe – This Scotch Ale pours dark brown with an aroma and taste of bourbon, vanilla, caramel, dark fruits and coffee.

_Ball Master Crop 12oz

Rahr & Sons Pride of Texas – This pale ale pours copper colored with pale malt and floral hop aroma, and tastes of bitter hops with a mild hint of sweet citrus.

Saint Arnold Icon Green – This Amarillo Hefeweizen is a fairly traditional Hefe but is dry hopped to complement the banana and clove flavors of the yeast. The balance gives an impression of added spice, but no spice was added. Just malt, hops, yeast, and water.

Rogue Sriracha Hot Stout – Dark brown body with a rich bubbly dark chocolate head. The aroma and taste is chocolate malt with subtle roastiness, smooth with a mild lingering heat on the finish.

See you when you get here!
