Everyone will also enjoy Saint Arnold Spring Bock, Southern Star Pine Belt, Southern Star Old Potentate, Rahr & Sons Iron Thistle and ZiegenBock!

The bonus beer in Texas City is Cornel’s Maelstrom. Victoria tasting-goers will sample Lone Star Bock and Beaumonters will enjoy Texas BIG BEER Big Texas Blonde.

The nose is a combination of sour cherry, oaked chardonnay and a wild yeast character. The taste has cherry and light malt up front, chardonnay in the middle and finishes dry with a distinct tartness. The cherry throughout is a light note, never dominating.

“BB2” is only available in bars and restaurants, so pay an extra visit your favorite stomping grounds this week. We’ll be posting BB2 sightings on our Facebook page, and you can also search the hashtag #bb2 on Twitter.

‘Til Thursday, cheers!

Texas BIG BEER’s Big Texas Blonde

Big Texas Blonde

Greetings, Pint Jockeys! We’re well on our way to another weekend, but first we’d like to introduce you to one of our latest (and newest) Texas craft beer favorites: Texas BIG BEER’s Big Texas Blonde.

The first release from microbrewery Texas BIG BEER, this Belgian Blonde Ale is brewed with lots of malt and hopped with just enough earthy Sterling hops to leave a slightly sweet, rich flavor. Even at a whopping 10.54% ABV, Big Texas Blonde is known as the brewery’s “light beer” because it is so drinkable for its size. It goes down smooth because of the American Ale yeast and the clean flavor of the malt and Belgian Candi Syrup.

Much to our approval, Big Texas Blonde (and all Texas BIG BEER brews) is available in 22 ounce bottles and on tap in 17 counties throughout Southeast Texas. So basically, you’ve got no excuse not to pick up a bottle or glass and enjoy a cold one.

And while we’re on the subject of BIG beers with BIG alcohol content, we want to take a quick moment to remind you to drink responsibly as you enjoy all the many holiday office parties, family get-togethers and festive celebrations coming up. Always designate a driver or call a cab, and remember that drunk driving is 100% preventable, Pint Jockeys!

Come back next week when we post the last tasting event lineup of the year and in the meantime, salud!

Soon it’ll be easier than ever to get your hands on Texas BIG Beer

Hi there, Pint Jockeys!

This Texas Tuesday we’re saying an enthusiastic howdy-do to one of Texas’ newest breweries! That’s right! Just yesterday, Del Papa Distributing officially welcomed Texas BIG Beer to their extensive craft beer portfolio, which means the brews will be making their way into refrigerators across the Gulf Coast  in the very near future. The brewery has made quite a name for itself in and beyond its hometown of Buna, Texas, and we can’t wait to get a taste.

And while we can’t share too much about the flavor just yet, we can share an interesting fact about the brewer. The folks at Texas BIG Beer Brewery note that while their beers are BIG, their carbon footprint is small. Located on what will be five acres of a Self-Sufficient Homestead, their facilities are built, in part, to convert waste into food. Texas BIG Beer Brewery also plans to vent the carbon dioxide produced during fermentation into their greenhouse to allow the plants to convert that CO2 into oxygen. So, consider it your civic duty to pick up a six pack of your Texas BIG Beer favorite; by drinking it, you’re helping the environment.

The exact roll out date is still being confirmed, but expect to see the brewery’s staple Big Texas Blonde and new concoctions, Renaissance Cowboy and Texas Crude, soon! The beers will be distributed throughout Del Papa’s territory, which includes Brazoria, Calhoun, Chambers, Dewitt, Galveston, Hardin, Jackson, Jasper, Jefferson, Lavaca, Liberty, Matagorda, Newton, Orange, Sabine, Victoria and Wharton counties.

Let us know if you’ve had a Texas BIG Beer before and if so, which is your favorite.

‘Til next time, Pint Jockeys!
